Sanctioning Intervention

In the exercise of its sanctioning powers in relation to offences falling within its remit, The Portuguese Health Regulatory Authority (ERS) is responsible for initiating the appropriate enforcement proceedings, adopting precautionary measures where necessary, and imposing the applicable sanctions in accordance with the law.

ERS maintains a publicly available register of all sanctions imposed, including relevant details. Information on sanctions is published on the ERS official website. ERS may also publish details in newspapers with national, regional, or local circulation, depending on the geographical scope of the offence.
